Current standards of care call for a comprehensive exam and any necessary x-rays at your first visit, so we can see the full picture of your oral health before treating anything. If a cleaning is the right next step, we often schedule it the same day or within a few days.

You start with the dental assistant for any necessary x-rays, then see the dentist for a comprehensive exam. The dentist reviews your x-rays and performs an oral cancer screening of your jaw, neck, tongue, and mouth. You will likely not have a cleaning at this visit, since we confirm it is the right treatment for your oral health first.

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, and any relevant forms, including your health history and current medications. We will check for updates to this information at every visit.

After your intake call, we email you the forms. You can fill them out and email them back, or bring them completed to your appointment. Doing this ahead of time lets us spend your full appointment on your care. See patient forms.

You are welcome to come by beforehand to tour the office and meet the staff. During treatment, many patients bring earbuds with music, an audiobook, or a podcast to tune out the sound.

For patients without insurance, our in-house Wellness Plan offers discounts on preventive care and 15% off most procedures. We also offer payment plans for established patients, work with CareCredit, and accept most private insurance. See financing options.

For serious injuries to your mouth or jaw, go to the nearest hospital emergency room. For toothaches, pain, or other urgent dental problems, call our office for a same-day appointment. If we are closed, leave a message or follow the instructions for reaching the dentist after hours.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit by age two, or within six months of the first tooth. Baby teeth usually start coming in around six months.
